Taryn with her son Lakson
Happy, happy day to you! I am taking a little detour from the usual women’s health talk and I am getting real with you gals.
The past couple of months have been a whirlwind. So many things are happening and changing in my world…good changes but change never comes easy. Sometimes the best things in life start with a tough conversation.
A tough conversation indeed. A group that I have admired and followed for so long, I broke up with. I pictured it being the same type of break-up from my younger years…you know, the tough conversation, feeling sick to your stomach because you never want to make anyone upset, and then the feeling of relief because you made the right decision. It pretty much went down this way.
The minutes after the “break-up” I had a huge sense of peace. Even though it was an amazing opportunity and I felt like a PT world takeover was about to happen, the truth was, it just wasn’t for me. I knew this deep in my heart before I even made the decision and I should have gone with my intuition.
I am type II on the Enneagram which is “The Helper”. (If you haven’t taken the enneagram you need too!) Along with filling my cup by helping others, I also rely strongly on pleasing other people (I wish it weren’t this way). Herein lies the problem! Making decisions in life, especially major life decisions trying to please others will never end well.
Looking in retrospect, I should have followed my gut instinct but the truth is, I have grown from this experience. I don’t believe I would have figured out my next steps unless I went on this journey.
So often, women are paralyzed from even taking a step forward because of fear of the unknown. My question for you is “what is the worst that could happen?” If your heart is pulling you in a certain direction…go there. You will be amazed by how things seem to fall into place when you follow your heart.
Helping moms fills my cup up! Moms do so much for everyone around them and it gives me great joy when a mom reaches out to me for help. I no longer want moms to suffer in silence but instead seek help; physical, emotional, and spiritual. I will continue to help moms both in a clinical setting as well as online.
Sit down for this because it will be a shock to the ol’ system!
I am buying a boutique….Farmgirls Boutique! I know what you are probably thinking…this girl is CRAZY! Which is honestly quite true but so FUN!
Farmgirls is my mother-in-law’s store and she has provided a great opportunity. Another avenue to share my creative side and help women. I love going into the store and seeing women get excited by finding something they love.
If you so desire…start following us on Instagram @farmgirlsboutique and Facebook @farmgirlsboutique.
We haven’t ventured online yet but those are the big plans! Stay tuned for more on this new adventure and if you are a mom and want in on the super cool Moms Group where we share the deets on all things health and momming jump in…we would love to have you. Group Name- Mighty as a Mother!
In closing, I want to encourage you to make the hard decisions. Maybe your job doesn’t fill you up, maybe you’re a stay at home mom and want a side hustle. Whatever those tough decisions may be, I just want you to trust your gut on this one. Make the hard decision because the other side is pretty amazing!
Love you, mom!
Pretty exciting! I know you’ve thought this through and it will make your life busy (not busier…not sure that’s possible) in all the right ways! You’ll do great!
Thanks Gretchen! I actually thought of you when I was making this tough decision to bow out from a partnership with men..never an easy conversation.
So excited for you, you will continue to do great things!
