Self-care, the buzz word in the mom world these days.
What do you think of when you hear the word self-care? Maybe it is a bubble bath, a good book, or wine with your friends? All sound pretty amazing to me!
I have often struggle with the term “self-care”. It makes me shift in my seat a bit.
Although the popular ways to perform self-care are pretty spectacular, sometimes self-care is pretty un-beautiful. Self-care shouldn’t be the way we escape from our own lives but a way we value our own health: emotional, physical, and spiritual.
Self-care is a choice to build a life you don’t have to escape from.
It may get ugly, it may be painful but sitting down and taking inventory of your life. What things do you need to evaluate closely?
Whatever the thing is, it means getting honest with yourself. This may mean upsetting people or not fitting in. It may mean that you have some new habits to build into your life.
It WILL BE uncomfortable, GOOD. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. This is where you will grow as individuals.
